Chapter 238: You Can't Hurry Love

The friend of a romantic partner, or the romantic partner of a friend, are called the same names as romantic partners (girl-/boy-/enbyfriend, g-/bf, etc.) with the prefix great- added, with an additional great- added for each additional layer of separation. One's great-girlfriend's boyfriend would be "great-great-boyfriend".

To avoid a proliferation of "greats" when discussing friend groups, one may also use ordinals instead of multiple "greats"; thus a "great-great-boyfriend" would be the "second great-boyfriend", and a "great-great-great-boyfriend" would be a third great-boyfriend, and so on. One may also use cardinal numbers for numbering greats, for example, great-great-great-girlfriend becomes 3×-great-girlfriend.

Individuals who share the same great-romantic partners but are not romantic partners or friends themselves are "second pootans" to each other, as second pootans have girlfriends or boyfriends who are friends. Similarly, "third pootans" would have great romantic-partners who are dating, and "fourth pootans" would have great-great-romantic-partners who are friends.
